Truck Drivers' Training at St. Cloud Technical College is a commercial truck drivers' training course will prepare you for driving employment. Many job opportunities exist for seasonal, local, regional and over-the-road drivers. Some graduates are starting at $40,000 to $60,000 per year. We offer Job placement assistance before, during and after the training to help you secure the driving job that best fits your needs.

is 6 weeks, Monday through Thursday 8AM-5PM OR 8 weekends, Saturday and Sunday 7AM-5PM

cost is $5,500 for the weekday course OR the weekend course

Training

Student
requirements needed by the
first day of class:

Have a CDL permit. Call (320) 308-6522 to have a prep book sent to you. To help you prepare for the permit test, visit: www.theCDLtest.com
This guide is narrated. You will find pictures and practice test questions to help you pass the written permit test. The written test is taken at the Department of Motor Vehicle.

Must be 18 years of age with a Minnesota driver's license.

Pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical. Set this appointment with your clinic, and it must be completed before class start. The cost of the physical is not included in tuition.

Pass a drug and alcohol test as required by federal regulation. Administered on the first day of class and all students will be in a random testing pool throughout the course. The cost of testing is included in tuition.

Have a clean driving record. No more than 3 moving violation within the past 36 months.

When applying for these loans, indicate to the attendant that the loan is for non-college credit or short-term training. Once you have completed the application process, contact the truck drivers training program at (320) 308-6522 so that the program can provide enrollment verification for you to your lender. At SCTC, we provide personal assistance to help you each step of the way.

St. Cloud Technical College offers assistance with job placement. We work with individual students to determine a good fit for employment. We will assist you to make the right connections with the employers that are hiring. SCTC works with many trucking companies that look to hire safe, competent drivers' right out of our program. Employment applications for many companies are on file with the truck drivers' training program.
