What Do I Do First?

  • Talk with your high school counselor or home school coordinator about your career goals and discuss how the Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program and St. Cloud Technical College can work for you.

  • Submit a completed technical college application form, a copy of your high school transcripts and a PSEO Notice of Student Registration (NOSR) form.

  • Call 320-308-5089 or 1-800-222-1009 to schedule an appointment for ACCUPLACER testing and a meeting with Terry Gruber, Counselor at SCTC.

  • Following the meeting at SCTC you will need to complete and submit a SCTC PSEO Graduation Plan by the appropriate deadline. To be accepted to the college your application, transcripts, NOSR and Graduation Plan must all be in by the acceptance deadline: (Acceptance Deadline for Fall Semester - June 1, Spring Semester - November 30)

The Importance of the ACCUPLACER
The ACCUPLACER is a VERY important test. You must achieve at about the 25th %ile or better, in each area of the test to be admitted to St. Cloud Technical College using the PSEO program.

The test will measure your skills in three areas, reading comprehension, sentence skills and arithmetic. Practice BEFORE you test. For sample questions and practice links, follow the links below:
You must pass all three areas and may retest only once. (There is a $5 charge for retesting.) If you need accommodations for testing due to a disability, please provide documentation of your disability in advance and state your request when scheduling a testing appointment.

If the required scores are not achieved, college readiness courses must be taken to prepare for college level work. The PSEO program does not cover tuition for college readiness courses. Students would need to pay tuition and book costs of those courses.
