Admissions Process

  • Review the CACE Program information on the website and the Program Admissions Criteria in the CACE Student Handbook
  • Attend a CACE Information Meeting
  • Apply to SCTC and declare a HCT/CACE Major
  • Plan which classes to take and in what order, based on your schedule, class availability and prerequisites classes.  Know your program prerequisites and which classes you need to take.  See Program Checklist.
  • Contact or meet with the HCT/CACE Enrollment Specialist each semester if you are uncertain of which classes to take or if you need help understanding if you meet the Program Criteria.

Distance Learning

After a student completes their AAS or AS degree they have the option to continue their education at Southwest Minnesota State University to obtain a 4 year degree in teaching birth thru 3rd grade.The courses are offered here at SCTC via ITV and on-line.
