Zierden, Tanner and Mages receive post season honors

Three members of the St. Cloud Technical College Women's Softball team were named to the MCCC Southern Division All Conference Teams.

First Team

Jen Zierden, sophomore from Melrose, had a batting average of .425, lead the team in runs scored, 24 and had seven doubles, two home runs and 20 rbi's.

Second Team

Melanie Mages, freshman from Paynesville, led the Cyclones in hitting - .442 average; doubles - 11; triples - 3; RBI's - 29; hit 4 HR's; finished with a .747 slugging percentage and threw out nine base runners from centerfield.

Jamie Tanner, freshman from Atwater/Cosmos/Grove City, finished with a .419 batting average, six doubles and two HR's while getting 9 wins on the mound.

The Cyclones finished the season 14-14 and set school and season records for team home runs (20), runs scored (77) and team batting average (.330) The future looks bright as they return seven starters from this year's roster.
