SCTC Squad Doubles up Alumni 12-6

The SCTC baseball team used a hot start to beat the alumni team 12-6 on a hot and muggy Saturday afternoon. A crowd of approximately 50 watched the current squad string three singles in the first inning and three doubles and two walks in the second inning to jump out to a 7-0 lead. The alumni battled back to score a run in the fourth, three in the fifth and two in the sixth to pull within one run. The current squad answered with five runs in the final two innings to put the game away.

For the alumni, nine pitchers took the mound allowing 9 earned runs on 12 hits. Craig Hern struck out all three batters he faced. Justin Butkofski and Dave Neubauer each had two hits. Pete Froehlich had two RBI’s. Butkofski and Dave Jonas doubled.

For the current squad, Mike Greisgraber, Drew Elness, Dustin Schmaltz and Eric Schoenberg each had two hits. Nine pitchers allowed nine hits and three earned runs.
